ORDERS OUTSIDE THE USA, SHIPPING CHARGES & INFORMATION NOTICE ABOUT SHIPMENTS GOING TO A UPS STORE ADDRESS

Orders from Outside the USA

The shopping cart on my website it not set up for orders placed outside the USA.  So, should you place your order directly on my website without reading this policy you will not be charged for shipping.

If you wish to order you must contact me directly to place the order.

Below are the shipping terms for orders from outside the USA:

PRIORITY MAIL:  I no longer ship orders outside the USA by priority mail unless the buyer is willing to assume ALL responsibility if the package is lost in transit. Priority mail is no longer traceable and the postal service will no longer process claims for packages lost in transit across borders. If you choose to have your order shipped via Priority mail I will invoice you directly for the order with the stipulation on the invoice that the buyer assumes all responsibility if the package is lost in transit. Orders will be covered by the postal service for damage but not for loss across borders when orders are shipped by Priority Mail.

EXPRESS MAIL: While this option is quite a bit more expensive it is the only assurance of having your package delivered safe and sound. It will be traceable and it will be covered for both loss in transit and damage.

Orders from outside the USA placed directly on my website

If you have placed your order directly on my website before reading my shipping policy please note the following policy:

Pay Pal now charges all sellers a cancellation fee on orders that are placed and then cancelled. If you are outside the USA and place an order directly from my website then I will deduct this fee from the refund when the order is cancelled. If, however you agree to the above shipping terms this will not apply.

I apologize for this inconvenience but the USPS no longer provides any tracking nor do they assume any liability on International Priority mail.

Shipping Information On Razertip Orders Outside the USA

If you wish to order, please contact me directly to see if I can have your order drop shipped directly from the manufacturer.  I can arrange drop shipment of all Razertip products to most countries outside the USA as long as there is no Razertip dealer in that country. 

You will receive the same discounts I offer on my website. Just fill out the contact form along with your shipping address, phone number and let me know if you have 110v or 220v. I will get a quote on the price of the burner (if other than 110v) and the shipping charges. Razertip will drop ship the order and will handle any claims should there be a problem with the shipment.

General Shipping Information

I normally ship orders within 1 - 2 days!  It is my goal to ship orders within 1-2 days of receiving them (when I receive proper shipping address and phone number).

Delays may occur for a variety of reasons such as:

  • when paid by an "echeck" that must clear through pay pal before I can ship
  • there is a problem with the order and I have been unable to ready you
  • you have not provided a physical address for shipping
  • You have not provided a phone number and I have to contact you regarding the order or I am shipping via FedEx (phone numbers are required)
  • I discover the address you have provided is a UPS store and will not accept FedEx packages
  • I are out of town at a show

If there will be a delay, I will notify you as soon as possible by whatever means you have provided. 

Shipping charges are calculated upon checkout when you order from my website and while they might seem high they cover all our shipping supplies. If you have been charged more than the shipping and handling charges I will issue a refund to you once the shipment is processed.

I ship most orders (over 3 lbs.) by FedEx Ground/Home so I must have a physical address & telephone number. 

Smaller orders (approx. 3 lbs. and under) will ship out by USPS. If you prefer to have a package shipped USPS or you do not get postal service delivery at your physical address please contact me before placing your order online.

Shipping to a UPS Store Address

If your shipping address is to a private mail box (PMB) at a UPS store you MUST let me know prior to ordering. Many UPS stores will NOT accept FedEx shipments and I normally ship heavier and fragile packages by FedEx.

Shipping on My Books and Patterns

The price for my books and patterns includes shipping by 1st Class or Media mail uninsured within the USA when the patterns/books are ordered by themselves. If they are included with other items they are shipped by other methods which include insurance. 

If you are just ordering books/patterns I recommend you add the optional insurance should your order get lost or damaged in the mail. I cannot be responsible for loss or damage unless you pay for the optional insurance. Delivery can take up to 9 business days (excluding holidays) to reach you by media mail.

If you wish to have your order shipped by priority mail insured I have included an option below my books & patterns for you to add priority shipping and insurance to your shopping cart.  The books and patterns should reach you within 3-5 days when shipped by priority mail and you will be protected if they are lost or damaged.

Due to the fact that the post office assumes no liability for loss of shipments crossing borders I will no longer ship books outside the USA. I apologize for the inconvenience but you can find international sources on my links page.

Shipping by USPS & Their New Zone-Based Shipping Rates

I ship smaller, light weight (under 3 lbs.) items such as pyrography pens by Priority Mail and orders that can fit in flat rate boxes will also ship by Priority Mail. 

The USPS recently changed their shipping rates so that many shipping rates, including Priority, are now based on zones like FedEx and UPS have done for years.

What this means is more money for the postal service and higher rates for you and me. I highly doubt it will improve their service but one can only hope. So what this means is that the farther away you are from where the package ships you will now pay a higher price than you would have previously. 

The shipping charge calculator on the website cannot be customized to take all these variables (shipping zones, weight, Priority vs. FedEx, etc.) into consideration so in some cases the shipping rates you are charged might end up being higher than the actual shipping and handling charges but in many cases I will actually end up loosing money on the shipping and handling. This is a common problem shippers face so we try to find a common ground. Most shippers do not refund the excess charges but I try to be fair to my customers and either issue a refund or, if the difference is small, I send you something to help make up for the difference. It is not my intent to make money on shipping charges but hopefully not to loose too much money in the cases where the actual shipping is less than you have paid.

Expedited Shipping Services

If you need expedited shipping services please let me know what you want to order and I will let you know the shipping options and cost and I can bill your order directly through pay pal.

Shipping Addresses and Incorrect Addresses

Please be sure that your address is correct when placing your order. If the address is incorrect and it is due to you providing the wrong address there will be a $11.00 charge incurred by FedEx & UPS which will be passed on to you. If the mistake was made by me you will not be responsible for the charge.

Some things you need to do to ensure there are no problems with your order.

  • It's important that you double check your order before processing it on the website or before mailing the order form in.
  • Make sure your address is correct before clicking to process the order or before mailing the mail order form
  • Make sure you have included a working phone number and email address in case I have to contact you.
  • If you are using the mail order form remember, if I can't read your writing you could you might not get your order.

Pay Pal policy is that sellers must ship to the address on the orders we receive. If you have a Pay Pal account please be sure the address and phone numbers are correct before placing your order. If you have moved and have an old address in your account please be sure you updated it before placing your order and to avoid future problems be sure to remove your old address and phone number from the pay pal account. 

Why do I Need your Phone Number?

NOTE!  I MUST have your telephone number FOR SHIPPING. I do not give your information away or use it for any purpose other than contacting you in case of problems with your order and for shipping purposes. FedEx and UPS require phone numbers for all orders shipped so they can contact you if there is a problem delivering your order. 

I respect your privacy and I assure you that any personal information I receive is kept confidential. It is, however, crucial for me to have your phone number in case I or the carrier need to reach you regarding your order. I do not use this to solicit or share the information with anyone other than the shipping carrier.

About the Shipping Charges & Refunds of Excess Charges

My shipping charges are calculated using a chart just like mail order catalogs. It is calculated automatically as you shop, based on how much you order and caps at certain amount just like most catalogs. 

If the shipping and handling charges are lower than what you were charged when you placed the order, the excess will be refunded to you when the order is processed for shipping.

Why Do the Shipping Charges Seem so High?

Good question! The shipping and handling charges may sound high but in many cases I actually loose money on shipping and handling and it is part of doing business.

Every company that ships packages incurs the same out of pocket expenses which include things such as processing fees we are charged, insurance, packing material (boxes, filler, tape, shipping labels, special wrapping to prevent damage, etc.) which in some cases can add up $5.00 just in packing material alone.  This is all taken into consideration when shipping charges are calculated by ALL business'.

PRICE INCREASES occur all the time, not just actual shipping costs, but the shipping materials used for shipping and business' pay shipping charges for shipping materials as well.

I try to keep charges as low as possible but I must try to meet my expenditures for shipping orders whenever possible and I hope you understand that in many cases I am actually loosing money when packages are shipped. It's part of doing business but I don't try to make up for those losses by overcharging other customers.

Excess Shipping Charges on Small and Lightweight Items

Unfortunately I cannot customize the shipping, handling and insurance charges to accommodate every order, especially small and lightweight items such as pyrography pens, cords, applicators, etc. 

In the past I have been doing manual invoices for people but it has become very time consuming on both ends so I am asking you to go ahead and order online. Once I process the order and shipping I will refund any excess charges through pay pal (if you used pay pal).

If you are ordering with the mail order form and think that the shipping charges are high for what you are ordering please contact me before ordering.

It's not my intent to make money on processing and shipping so refunding any excess is the only way I can handle the excessive charges you might incur if you are ordering lightweight items. The shopping cart doesn't know what's lightweight or not. 

While I don't bill you for the additional charges that were not covered by the shipping charge you paid, I do try to refund excessive overages that you might have paid. But just so you understand.....Let's say you order $400 worth of merchandise. You will pay the same price for shipping as if you bought perhaps $250 (this is because our shipping charges cap at a certain amount you have spent like most catalog order forms & my mail order form). That package probably costs me quite a bit more to ship but you do not pay any more for the order. In cases like this I loose money on the shipment but that is the price of doing business and most of us understand that.

 

NOTICE REGARDING ADDRESS CORRECTIONS AND UNDELIVERABLE PACKAGES

EFFECTIVE 1/14/09 - INCORRECT ADDRESSES AND ADDRESS CORRECTIONS

 

Please be sure your address is correct when you place an order online.  Effective 1/14/09, FedEx and UPS started charging for address corrections.  If I receive a bill for this fee from FedEx or UPS and it was due to customer error it will be passed on to you via an invoice. If you paid through pay pal an invoice will be sent to you through pay pal. If the invoice is unpaid we will enter a dispute through pay pal and we will not process any future orders from you until the charge is paid. 

If an order is returned to me as undeliverable I will contact you regarding the correct address. If the error was mine I will reship the order at my expense. If the address on the order was incorrect then I will not be responsible for return shipment cost. If you then wish to have the order reshipped it will be at your expense. Any charges I incur because the customer has provided an incorrect address or failed to update their pay pal account with a current address will be billed back to the customer. 

To avoid additional shipping charges please ensure your address is correct when placing the order.
