Memories Ink dyes are perfect for
gourd art, rubber stamping, scrapbooking, card making and so much more.
These are the same ink dyes you've
seen demonstrated by Maria Dellos who developed the techniques using them on
gourds. Memories ink dyes
have the same semi-transparent
quality as leather dye but it will not fade or streak like leather dye, it
blends beautifully AND it is
easier to work with! Plus one 1/2 oz bottle covers approximately 100 gourds
(5-6 size)! Memories ink dyes we carry are the finest quality water-based
gourd ink dyes you will find. They are made by Stewart Superior in the
good 'ole USA.
Memories has gained the reputation for being "the best
of the best" of premium dye inks on the market and gourders around the globe
have now discovered them.
What's even better, you can get
now them at lower prices from us!
Memories Ink Dyes are fast
becoming the most popular dye for gourd artists because they are fade-resistant
and so much more versatile than leather dyes. Not only are they light-fast
but they are acid free, water based and made in America. You can do so
much with them. Use a variety of colors to blend and create so many
variations. You then dry and heat set them with a
heat
embossing tool and you're done.

applicators, brushes and the heat embossing tool, etc that can be used with your

Ink dyes are fast becoming the most popular dye for gourd artists because of they are

in a wonderful array of colors and can be blended together to create your own
personal palette.
Memories Ink Dyes are the very same ink dyes that
Maria Dellos uses and developed the techniques for using the ink dyes on gourds.

things you can do with ink dyes in Maria Dello's book
Gourd Art with Ink Dyes.
Memories ink dyes are available in
a wonderful selection of colors. They are slow drying and very blendable
so you can create your own colors. They are easy and fun to use and they
wont fade, leave lines or streak like alcohol based products such as leather
dyes. Heat setting the dyes with a heat embossing tool prevents smearing
wet
inks and dries the colors in seconds so the ink does not smear.
Memories ink dyes are very
concentrated so a little goes a very long way. One tiny drop will cover a
very large area so less is always better. To make the most of the dyes I
recommend using the ink applicator cubes and marking the colors so you can reuse
them over and over again. You can also use sponge wedges to cover larger
areas, seal them in small zip-lock bags when you are finished or wash them out
with soap and water to reuse them.
These dyes are perfect for gourd artists,
crafters as well
as rubber stamping enthusiasts. They are not intended to be used directly
on wood but can be mixed with paint or other mediums. I suggest you
experiment mixing the ink dyes and experiment on a scrap piece of wood. I
have had great results mixing it with Jo Sonja paints and Generation Green base
paints. Mixing with varnish will also give you a nice stained varnish.
So play, have fun, experiment!
Please check out our
heat

The above photos are of gourd
ornaments I made using the ink dyes. The background was pine tree green
and the maple leaves were made with a blend of Memories canary, yellow,
ochre, sepia and/or chestnut and port red
to create the fiery colors of fall foliage. For more information on how I
created these ornaments and the fiery colors go to the

Crafts 101 tutorial.
