Earth Safe Finishes (formerly
Terre Bella Finishes) Products
are
the finest, Generation Green, non toxic water based products available on the market. They have a wonderful array of
products for the gourd artist and other crafters. Some of their products

Old World Peasant paints
(Perfect Paint).
State of the Art paint to achieve an "old world" look with modern technology

Adheres permanently to almost any surface. Use with Pure Color pigments
to create your own colors.
Gel Glaze and Metallic Gel Glaze
(Shimmer Translucent) adds a sophisticated shimmer to virtually any
surface. It is applied with a cosmetic sponge to
your
gourd art and using multiple colors shows a gorgeous glow of color because it is
transparent and does not change the colors already added, it just enhances what
color is below it. You can also mix Stewart Superior Inks and Pigment Powders
and Pure Color to intensify the color, making it less transparent. Best way to
apply to gourd is using a cosmetic sponge and when using it on other surfaces,
you can use a rag, sponge, plastic bags and anything else that adds texture.
This is the
original Gourd Varnish used and recommended by Maria Dellos on Gourd TV and in
her book Gourd Art with Ink Dyes.
The gourd
ornaments shown above were both done with several layers of metallic gel glazes.
As you can see each one is slightly different. Adding layers of color do
not cancel the previous layer out but add to it and in each of these I started
with different base colors and added different colors in each layer. They
make wonderful ornaments in addition to gourdeous gourds! 
Opulence (Shimmer Opaque). Opulence is
a pure, strong, rich pearlescent that can be added to any medium including
paint, varnish, and ink dye.
Pure Color (Colorant). Make your
own paints with Old World Peasant Paint or other Terra Bella finishes product.
These are the finest quality pigment dyes and help you create your own magnificent
color palette's. Works on gourds, wood, tagua nuts and just about any
material.
The gourd on the right was made
using all of the Earth Safe Finishes Products. The background was done
mixing two Pure Color pigment colors with Old World Peasant Paint and then a
layer of Metallic Gel Glaze was applied over that. The robes were done
with gourd ink dyes, including the metallic ink dyes and opulence. The
feathering was burned and then feathered with
Opulence.
